So often we give ourselves up for things that really do not matter. To feel good for a moment. To be important to the wrong crowd. To get rich. To get famous. But really why do we do this? Why work twice as hard just to waste more money? Why attempt to drink the pain away, when that didn’t work last time we tried that? Why put so much energy into anger and cursing someone out when you know that is someone you need in your life? Why do we let ourselves be with women or men that we aren’t married to just for temporary satisfaction? We have a God that loves us and is willing to do everything for us. A God who is willing to satisfy our every need. A God who spared nothing when He gave his only begotten son…Jesus Christ.
A God that says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” – Matthew 7:7
Yet so often we still lean on our own ways and lack in faith and lack in trust that our God will do what He says He will do. But our God says to, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
Because when we do not trust in the Lord that is when we end up seeing the results that we don’t want.
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lust.” – James 4:3
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
