If you look at Matthew 6 Jesus makes these three statements while giving His famous sermon on the mount…
“…when you do a charitable deed…” (Verse 2)
“And when you pray…” (Verse 5)
“…when you fast…” (Verse 16)
Clearly it appears here that Jesus is assuming that those who follow him should be GIVING (doing charitable deeds), PRAYING, and FASTING. Â Do you want to live more like Christ? Â Well it starts right there. Â And if you study Matthew 6, each of those disciplines comes with a reward from God!
Won’t He do it!!
