As I sit here in Philadelphia with the Republican National Convention having just finished and anticipating the start of the Democratic National Convention I thought it would simply be a good time to remember who is truly in charge in all of this. Â Psalms 29:2 tells us,
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
Is either one of the candidates righteous? Â There are valid arguments for and against each candidate that make it difficult to side with either one. Â There might be a lot of groaning in our near future. Â But we have hope because there is one who is righteous and that is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Â As children of God we must have faith in the fact that despite the craziness in the world and even in this election, He is still in control according to Matthew 28:18 which tells us,
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
No president can fix everything or keep us completely safe or heal us the way our Lord can. Â Furthermore, no matter who is or is to be in the office of the president of America, let us resolve to pray for them as we are instructed to in 1st Timothy 2:1-2 which tells us,
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.Â
The Lord Jesus is who allows a leader to be elected and the Lord can help any leader be a more moral, more peaceful, more honest, and even a more caring leader so let’s diligently pray that He does that.
I endorse Jesus Christ!!!
Be blessed in your coming and going!!
